Have two of the Minn Kota 70 lb saltwater bow mount 5 speed troll motors and they both have went out. They would start off by losing speed 1, 2, & 3 and only running in high and eventually would get to where had to jiggle handle or cover to get them to run and then would just quit running all together.

I have a terrova with i pilot same thing happened found out it was the remote, if thats not it then you will more than likely have to send it in for repair.
take off the top cover on the head of the motor and see if there are any restrictions to the movement of the cable. it may be the cable itself is rusted internally and may need replacement. call min kota on the 800 number on the motor for prices for any patrs you may need.
