I was downloading my pictures from my kodak easy share v1003 to the easy share program. the camera was recognized the downloading showed up as downloading to a file foler by date. it finished downloading, the file does not exist on my laptop and my camera will not turn on?

my v1003 camera is saying reset switch on memory card. I can not take any pictures at this point and I don't see instructions in my Easy Share manual. I'm on my way out of town it is 6:28am and my camera won't work. can someone please help me. thank you

You don't need any software.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

If this fault message is on your computer starting Easy Share Software: Please do a Clean Install on the software:

1. Uninstall Easy Share software:
1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs.
   For Windows XP operating systems, select Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs.
2. Select Kodak Easy Share software.
3. Select Remove (or select Change, and then select Remove).

1. Visit the CLEAR Utility for Kodak Easy Share software Web page at www.kodak.com/go/clear
2. Click the Download button, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
3. After restarting your computer, visit the Kodak Easy Share software Web page at www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw and install the latest version of Easy Share software.

A new screen is availably from virtualvillage dot com for about $45. I replaced one last week. It only takes 20 minutes and a small screwdriver. The ribbon cable is held in by a flip up lock at the main board.

Go to Kodak.com and download an install disk for your camera model. It is free.

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software. unfortunately it would appear to be a CCD or main board failure.
If the camera is out of warranty (as this should be covered) my best suggestion is to pick up one off ebay with a broken screen and put your screen in it, broken screens are common on these cameras so they go quite cheaply, far cheaper than kodak would charge for repair and the swap is easy.
