Computer will not prompt security code for radio

just call dealership and give last 7 of vin and they will issue the security code for radio

Buzzing sound from the dash-board, radio will not prompt security code to play.

Replace radio. radio itself is probably shorted out or some of the capacitors have gone bad

why didnt you write it on the sun visor ?? wheres the original little card thingy ,cant help without removing the radio to obtain the chassis number just pay the admin fee its easier then write it on the sun visor back of .

Hi
The car is looking for you to enter the security (anti-theft) code for the radio.
If power is removed (battery disconnected), radio assumes it has been taken from the car and protects itself by means of security code. You should have a small ( credit card size ) security card with the radio code written on it. The instructions for entering the code is in your owners manual.

I own a Jaguar s-type 2003. I recently opened the coolant reservoir to check level and closed it back after about 30 minutes. Since then the Engine Malfunction light has been on. What do I need to do ?

May be unrelated, have the car coded out at autozone it's FREE to find code for engine light.

disconnect the battery and leave for 30 mins before reconnecting. Ensure you have your radio code before you do anything!

2003 Jaguar S Type...Windows rolled down and sunroof opened for no reason as car sat on driveway at night in pouring thunder storm. Any idea why?

Had the same incident and a check of the battery showed a defective cell . battery replaced and all been ok since. Do ensure that you have your radio code before disconnecting battery otherwise you will not be able to use the radio etc.

Lost radio code

Check the driver's manual for the code. Sometimes it's on a card that is in with the manual. Put in the code with the numbered buttons on the radio and the radio will work again. This is to prevent theft.

Call jaguar and give them your vin number and they can get the code if radio has never been change, if so you will have to have the radio pulled to get the serial number , and then the dealer will have to call and get the code for you from the technical hot line
