Plasma TV-power light does not come on

My 42" Plasma TV has always been plugged on the outlet. Today, I found there was no red light on the TV. I tried to unplug and re-plug, there was no power come to the TV set. I don't see there is any place for fuse replacement or other opening that I can check. Any suggestions? When watching a movie the power on the hdtv just shut off, I have unplugged everthing and switched plugs around , everthing works except the hdtv it will not power up, no lights no power at all, its one year old.

There are a couple of possibilities here. If the set is indead dead, the most likely culprit is the "standby" transformer. If you are getting a click followed shortly thereafter by another click, then the TV is detecting a problem and shutting down to prevent further damage.

And if you get no clicks or anything at all, I would suggest you to look at the fuse and the standby transformer. The standby transformer is a small transformer that supplies 5V to the system even when off to allow remote control. You need to see if the primary side of this transformer is open or not. You should have 5V.

Goodluck,

The fuses are inside the TV is you remove the back cover but even changing the fuse it might not work because it could have other failures in the other board assemblies.

Power light blinks 14 times

You have a power malfunction. Recheck your power connections. If the TV still persists in behaving in this manner don't try to turn it back on, but do find out if the TV is worth repairing. Most now are made so cheaply that nobody will try to repair them. I've always bought used televisions, even when they had vacuum tubes. I bought my LED at a major store's resale outlet and saved a bundle. (Quite frankly, TVs and other electronics today are so complicated and untized and made so cheaply- and sold so dearly- that if one goes bad you don't even bring it in except for them to verify it. Then they give you a new one. They're simply not worth repairing to the companies. and its an opportunity for them to sell you a better one at a discount. Of course, if you are under warranty, you might be all set. PS: those extended warranty contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on and no smart consumer ever buys one. they're for suckers) Good luck.

Why won't my Panasonic 42 TCP42S30 42 Plasma TV turn on.

Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service
technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation/rectification.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]

Describe the past - How did it fail? One day or acting up for a while? Could be a weak power supply - a bad capacitor on a power supply too. Look for popped up capacitor top inside.
