the paper is in correctly and the printer sounds like it's getting ready to get the paper, but it never feeds in. the paper is in correctly and the printer sounds like it's getting ready to get the paper, but it never feeds in.
Most of the time mine partially pulls the paper, but at an angle, and then jams before printing. It appears to be getting stuck about 1/3 the way from the left side of the printer (when facing it). I've wasted a lot of paper, but feel the cost of sending it for repairt is out of the question. Most of the time mine partially pulls the paper, but at an angle, and then jams before printing. The paper does not feed from the vertical tray & produces an error 1003 report, "No paper".
It does say "load paper into the cartridge and press the resume button" which leads me to think that it is trying to feed paper from the bottom tray only, which if you look in after removing the tray & pressing resume you can see it trying.
How can this be resolved as it came on suddenly after months of fault free work?? Any ideas? The paper does not feed from the vertical tray & produces an error 1003 report, "No paper".

hi . you should check the mechanism. there is a solenoid responsible for picking the paper up. clean the metal plate of the solenoid. it should be sticky and that cause that problem. good luck
Load Legal paper in Cassette 1. If you want to print using only one piece of paper currently loaded in the Manual Feed Slot, click [Resolve Error]. If you want to feed paper from the cassettes, remove the loaded paper from the Manual Feed Slot.
So the feeder woek sometimes, If you have a warranty, bring it back, if not , the printer might have something stuck in his mechanism or a bit of spread ink, open it and check for any weird thing, you can do some cleaning but the mechanism need some greassy spot so do not be too clean
then try a recommanded paper for the printer like 80g for example and no more than 30 new pages to begin.
You can test the printer when open, you just need to push a few switch or button to make it run also you will be able to see where the noise come from.
There are probably problems with the rollers or the gear sequence that drives them. This type of repair may be more costly than what the printer is worth!
