Solution 1

Once you remove the ink cartridge from the printer, you can make use of the Isopropyl Alcohol, and put at maximum of 10 drops in the ink cartridge. You will find a hole there, in which the ink usually runs from the ink cartridge to the head of the printer. When done, you can put the cartridge back in the printer and run the auto cleaning process from the printer's option in order to clean the blocked holes of the cartridge. I would suggest you to run print tests first and once you are satisfied with the results, you can start using the printer normally.

If you want to go further:

* Remove the tank.
* Connect a hose directly on the inlet ink.
* Locate the sensor of reservoir and press it to make as if a cartridge is available.
* Close the cover of the print head and clean the head by injecting air (under pressure) through the pipe.
* Replace the tank up and do a test print.
* Repeat the procedure several times if the nozzles are clogged.

Solution 2

Using a syringe and some alcohol to unblock the holes can also be very effective.

* Step 1: Remove the cartridge from the computer
* Step 2: With the syringe, take in some alcohol and put in some drops in the tiny hole where the ink runs from the ink cartridge to the head of the printer.
* Step 3: When done, put the cartridge (only where the tiny holes are found) in some warm water. If some ink runs in the water, it means that the holes have been unblocked.
* Step 4: Hence, let the alcohol act for 20 minutes on the ink before putting the cartridge back in the printer.
* Step 5: Run some test prints before using the printer normally.

Note: I would suggest you to do an automatic head cleaning each time before any printing task. Hence it will reduce the risk of having the print heads blocked by dried ink.

I have replaced new cartridge in Epson Stylus D120 still printer is not working and shows cartridge empty light on.

I would expect you used a refilled cartridge.
The epson cartridge needs to be reprogrammed to say its full again.
You can get the reprogrammer of ebay very cheaply. you just hold the re programer on the contact pins for a couple of seconds until the light flashes.
Several printer manufactures are now doing this to lock you into their ink cartridges.

Epson c88 shows ink out in all four cartridges but they are full

Are they "original" Epson ink-cartridges, or have they been refilled? Often, the refilled cartridges will show as "empty", but they work, until they _do_ get empty.

On my Epson Stylus DX7450 printer ,underneath the stop button is 2 wee lights 1 with a page beside it and the other with a drop(like an ink drop) beside it.Its an orange light that its on on the 2nd...

Hi, one of your ink cartridges are empty, to check which cartridge needs replacing press the stop button, the carriage will move across to the left and sit below a pointer. This will point to the empty cartridge.
Press the stop button again, the carriage will move across either to display another empty cartridge or to the position to allow you to change the cartridge.
This can also be checked using the Status monitor software on the PC.

EPSON PRINTERS how to replace inks in epson DX 7450

You must surely have sorted this one out by now Doris! However, if you haven't, how to change print cartridges on a DX7450 is very clearly explained in the user handbook (on the CD that came with your printer). Insert the CD and select "Custom Install" then "Users Guide". Once its installed, double click the new Epson Icon on your screen and selct "Printing" then "Replacing Ink Cartridges". If you don't have a CD, download the User's Guide from the Epson website at http://www.epson.com - just choose your locale, then select Get Drivers and Support - Printers.
