Wireless capability not turned on

The wireless feature of my Fios Actiontec router is not on (light not illuminated). I tried fixing problem by logging into my routers interface but still no luck. When I click enable button for wireless & apply - light still does not go on.

Turn off all PC's that are attached to the router. Try unplugging the router for at least two minutes and plugging it back in, then try to turn the wireless back on.

Nonexistant customer service by Actiontec

After my second call to Actiontec ended with the help desh hanging up on me, Actiontec did respond to an emailed plea for help and prompty provided a complex script which they labeled confidential to address this problem. The bottom line seems to be Verizon either installed hardware that is incompatable with an Exchange server or they did not configure the insallation correctly. In so many words, Actiontec feels it is a Verizon problem. I wish me luck in getting to the right place to deal with that, even though I am a Verizon stockholder.

Need wireless code

if you mean username and password to setup the connection with security etc you will need to go to your routers page and login with a username and password.
A few of these can be found here.
ActionTec isnt a very popular make unfortunatly.

Using Linksys WRT54G as router connected to ActionTec with FIOS

You must keep everything on the same subnet. Only allow the router to be DHCP and keep everything on 192.168.1.x subnet. You are going to have alot of problems talking across subnets

Actiontec GT701-WG won't operate wirelessly

In looking on the internet the unit is a DSL gateway. Trying to use it on cable internet is not a real good way to set up your network because I believe the router is waiting for a DSL sync before the services turn on. I would spend the money and pick up a Linksys or Netgear G router, there around $50.

Dropping wireless connection

The problem may not be with your router. I had a situation a year ago with the modem dropping the signal everyday. I spent hours on the phone with verizon tech support to no avail. They sent someone out to my home and he put a filter on the main line coming into the house which didn't resolve the issue. Then verizon insisted the modem was bad so they sent me an actiontec. Turns out that the problem had nothing to do with me. They try to squeeze as much bandwith at their switching stations as they can. They switched me over to another hub and viola no more problem.
