If the dvd player has hdmi connection use that.
if the TV has hdmi input use that.

if you can do both of these then use the TV remote to switch input to hdmi when the dvd player is on.

as an extra you can use toslink optical or coaxial digital cable from TV to home theater receiver for surround sound.

Samsung Galaxy A14 phone. Trying to connect my phone to my Philips tv model 32PFL5322D. I bought an HDMI cord, connected my phone into tv but got nothing. Now what?

Question edited for clarity and what I think you thought you were saying, except for 'Tv is oler'. Older or OLED?

You don't say WHY you want to connect your phone to your television. This television is VERY basic. The HDMI Ports will be looking for a DVD or Video tape player AV data signal, not a phone.

No antenna port for Olevia TV How do I connect outside antenna to Olevia monitor

you will have to use a VCR, DVD player that has a built in tuner, or an HD converter box. The HD converter box will have an antenna connection for the outside antenna. But will also have RCA outputs to connect your TV to the converter

Can't hook the WII and the DVD player both up and the same time.

You can hook the Wii up with the standard RCA jacks and the DVD with the HDMI or vise verses. How many hook ups are on this TV. You can also run the Wii through the DVD using a aux channel on the DVD.

I have an olevia hdmi capable tv and a non hd verizon box what do i need to hook it up cable wise

The best picture would be HDMI, but as you stated the cable box is not HDMI. The next best connection is component cables (red, green, blue) from video output of cable box to video input of TV. You will also need RCA audio cables (red and white) from audio output of cable box to audio input of TV. I hope this helps.

I'm simply looking for the most efficient way to hook up my HD-TV with HDMI inputs to both my cable box (with HDMI inputs) and my DVD player/recorder so that I can record from the TV I watch.  ...

The way you have it hooked up right now will not work unless you have a coaxial out on your cable box going to the dvd recorder. Even then, picture quality will be severely degraded. The best way to do it is to leave your cable box hooked up to your TV via HDMI and connect your dvd recorder to your cable box via component video if your dvd recorder has a component video input. If it doesn't, then just use the composite video input. That way your picture quality will be better and you will still be able to record with the TV off.

HDMI out to Olevia 527 TV = Blue Screen

Hi beelzyboob.. try checking these.. since you are using the RCA (composite cables) and I assume you have them on the "DVD in" at the back, go to setup, go to input assignment and go to hdmi input. here, make sure dvd is set to" ----". Next, hit return and go down to component input and also check if dvd is set to "-----". With these settings, you should get video. This is because you are not using either an HDMI or component cable. hope this helps.. ^_^

Hdmi cord

the HDMI cable sends all the audio and video down one line, and unscrambles scrambled high def content when required, and fits in the rear of the tv, the slot looks very similair to a usb slot.

If you cable box has an HDMI slot you can use that instead of a scart lead and choose HDMI on your tv output

How To hook up vr357

Hi, You use the video and audio 'out' from your cable box to the 'in' on your Vr357. You can use s-video, component video cables or the av cables that came with it. You can use your HDMI cable from the VR 357 to your television. That will be for upconvert DVD watching. The cable box connection will still go from the box into your television. Hope that helps.
