Cannot call out or answer a call

I get a dialtone and hear the numbers dial but it never connects, dial tone just continues. Also when receiving a call, I cannot hear caller , but they can hear me. True for all three phones. (Used to work fine, just started happening a month ago.)

If I press call button the phone is quiet - no ring tone (or caller if answering a call). But when I press the speaker key everything can be heared. It's as if it's switched off, the volume is turned up to max.

The only thing I can think of is you may be in the wrong dial mode. If you do not have touch tone service you will hear the tones but it will not connect. Try setting it to pulse and see if you can call out. Check you volume or see if the mute has been set. Have you tried a different phone? you might want to borrow a phone from a neighbor to see if it is a service problem or just your phone.

Why no dial tone. Only static?

Check the phone line were it comes into the house there is usually a point where the phone connection from the the TELCO outside wires connects to the inside wiring.
Remove the inside wiring and test the wiring that is on the TELCO side. If you get dialtone the trouble is in the inside wire. If you don't get dialtone call TELCO

I have no dial tone on my fax machine and i cant send or receive faxes

Remove the phone line from the back of the fax and connect a standard phone (not a business PABX or PAX system phone) to the line. Ensure dialtone is available. (Make sure in doing this that you are also testing the cable from the phone socket to the fax). If no dialtone, replace cable or fix line.

Check that the line is connected to the 'line' port on the fax, not the 'phone' port.

If still no dial tone, it may be modem fault (in the fax). Seek specialist attention.

Lately every call I get I lose and receive a dial tone I am with bell but they say it is my phone possibly a software issue

Well, interesting part is, your phone doesn't create the dial tone sound.

If your call is ending, then you hear the dialtone, I would suspect a problem with a particular tower. If it happens all the time and in multiple areas, then all bets are off.

No dial tone on my Lexmark X4270

There are two outlets in the back where you plug in your phone line. I had the same problem when I
was plugged into the far left plug (as you are facing the front of the all in one). I switched to the other
outlet and it worked fine. But still once in a while it seems to loosen up and I have to push it back in
farther. Today I got a dialtone but could not send a fax. I got a dialtone but still wouldn't send. So I
checked the outlet and sure enough, it was just loose enough to prevent the machine from registering
the fax number, but connected enough to get a dialtone.....go figure. Good luck

No dialtone

If you use Dsl as a internet provider make sure you have the filters on each phone. If you use cablevision and have a wireless connection make sure you chage the phone to a 5.2ghz because you might have the wireless router with the same ghz causing a coflict. This will also create loss. of internet connections then you use the phone

I need to retrieve my home phone messages from cell phone

Activating Call Forwarding

You can activate Call Forwarding whenever you want your calls to be sent to another phone, including a mobile phone. Once activated, all your calls will be sent to the forwarding number you request. Each time a call is forwarded, you will hear one short reminder tone on your home phone, but you will not be able to answer the call from your home number.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press *7 2.
In some areas you must use 72#
Dial 1172 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. At the tone, dial the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.

4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.

5. Hang up the receiver.

Deactivating Call Forwarding

Turn Call Forwarding off when you want to receive calls on your home phone.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press * 73.
In some areas you must use 73#
Dial 1173 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. Listen for two short tones.
Call Forwarding is now off and you will receive your calls at your home number.
