My Pantech 520 phone rings very softly when I receive a call, even though the volume setting is as high as it will go. However, when the alarm rings, it is very loud, so I don't think the issue is with the speaker, but with a setting that needs to be changed. Can't find anything that works!

Menu, tools, meeting mode, turn setting to off

1.) go to settings,
2.) choose sounds & alerts,
3.) choose ring volume,
4.) then, press arrow up on your cellular keypad to have a high or loud volume; or, press arrow down to have a low/ soft volume on cellular phone.
5.) then click SAVE --- > ok.

Some how your phone was reset or had the tone turned off. Just follow the below guide and your audio should come back on. I would do a soft reset (turn off the handset, remove the battery then reinsert) before performing the instructions.

Tone settings
To select a ringing tone for voice calls, select Tones >
Ringing tone.
To select a ringing tone for video calls, select Tones > Video
call tone.
To set the ringing type, select Tones > Ringing type. You
can also set the device to sound a ringing tone that is a
combination of the spoken name of the caller and the
selected ringing tone, when someone from your contacts list
calls you. Select Tones > Say caller's name.
To set the volume level of the ringing tone, select Tones >
Ringing volume.
To set the various alert tones, select Tones > Message alert
tone, E-mail alert tone, Calendar alarm tone, or Clock
alarm tone.
To set the device to vibrate when you receive a call, select
Tones > Vibrating alert.
To set the volume level of the device keypad tones, select
Tones > Keypad tones.

Have you gone through the phones menus for sound, and set everything to the highest volume. If your speaker, ringer, are set to high,then the speaker is bad. Take the phone to your carrier store that has a repair, and have them check it, or if this can't be done contact the MFG through there website and see what the cost of the repair would be and check warranty
then you can tell if it is worth repairing the phone.

try doing a soft reset to the phone

maybe your phone have drop somewere. you need to open it to check the buzzer for problem.

It took me a while to find this.

Settings / Ring Style / scroll down to Detail & press the left soft-key to CHANGE. In this menu you can adjust default ring volume, and select different sounds for calls, texts, voicemail, alarms and also adjust key volume.

If you are clever enough to make your own mp3 ringtones (they need to be tiny files to fit on this phone's tiny 500kb memory) you can even select these as your call or text alert.
