Hello, I have a Harman P68 Pellet stove. The 250v 6 amp glass fuse keeps blowing. With the fuse out of the board, I can plug it in and the test light lights up when I hook up to the line voltage and the load side fuse holder. This to me indicates a short to ground. After unplugging all of the motors one at a time and unplugging the ignitor, the light still glows. I'm probably looking at a faulty circuit board. Has anyone seen this before, and is it common with these stoves? The stove is 6 years old.
You can do some troubleshooting by looking at the glass fuse after it has failed. If the element looks melted and there is no other discoloration, then the fuse probably blew as a result of an overload somewhere. If the fuse is burned black, then it's probably a short in the system.
You can meter the motors to see if they are shorted anywhere or open.
It sounds like you may be correct about the circuit board.
This answer may help someone although it's 4 years too late for Steve. The same thing happened to us. Our Harman was 1 month past its 2 year warranty. Our salesman told us it might be caused by our igniter. Perhaps if we clipped the wire to it. There is a wiring schematic inside the back cover. On the P43, P61A and P68 models, there is a yellow wire from the circuit board to the igniter behind the burn pot. Clip it. You will have to start your stove the old fashioned way (like we start our 1996 Harman Pellet Pro II) from then on. Buy starter gel and some matches. Life goes on. Ebay has a replacement igniter for sale. They take a quick 5 amps to do their job. That 5 amp flash, plus the combustion motor might just overwhelm the 6 amp fuse on the back of the circuit board. Good Luck.
