Hoover washer Time 1600 H160E UK stops mid cycle with flashing lights

Our washer stops mid cycle on all cycles and flashes the start and Superwash lights 5 times, then goes off and repeats the same sequence. Typically stops indicating that there are 30 mins left. This also happens if start a drain or spin. Often have to switch off for a few mins, then start drain and hope will start. Have checked drain pipes and can hear pump go when it does start. Anybody with any ideas.

I have Whirlpool washer and I have the same problem.Replaced timer and it continued to stop in mid cycle.I removed water pump and check for something caught inside of it but no luck.Any other suggestions??

Hi - Washer stopped in mid programme - now has no sign of life at all. Have checked main switch on the front & it switches the supply to the main board. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would definitely change the pump motor judging from your clear symptoms and observations!
It's probable that the motor isn't running efficiently, just enough when helped by the 'gravity' of the full drum but struggles once that is minimum.

Superwash button constant flashing

I do not have a solution but also have the same issue. That is when putting on a cotton programme, the superwash light comes on at the end of the programme and I am unable to open the door as it remains locked. I then have to put it to a rinse or spin cycle as it does not seem to have spun the clothes at all.

Have you checked the pump filter, and or that the pump is actually working. if it spins o/k with no water in, then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump o/k, then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.

You might try unplugging the power cord for 5 minutes, then restore power again. Try the machine again--if still has problems (beat son severely), you may have to replace the control unit.
