Hi All, I replaced the battery of my Garmin with an iPod battery. When I place the watch on the charging station the watch displays "charging" for 3-4 seconds but then displays "Charging process completed". To make sure that the new battery went through a complete charging cycle, I kept the watch 3-4 hours in the docking station. When I switch on the watch and off, the watch again displays that the charging process is in progress and then switches to "charging process completed" (watch is not on docking station at this point). Any ideas why? Thx and Happy New Year!

Since you used an Ipod battery instead of a Garmin compatible one, I would guess to say that it is not quite compatible. Even within the Ipod family, notwithstanding the physical limitations, the battery are not usually compatible because of variations some of which I would describe below:
- Battery has two wire and the regulator is on the device itself.
- Battery has two wires and has an inbuilt regulator (small circuit board fitted to the battery).
- Battery has three wires of which one is used by the device to control the charging
- Battery has three wires and inbuilt regulator (small circuit board fitted to the battery) of which one is used by the device as status indicator.

Hope it helps you do your own diagnostics but be very careful especially if the rechargeable Lithium battery is bulging as they do explode when not charged correctly! NEVER PIERCE A BULGING LI BATTERY!

Froze on garmin screen won't give directions

Could be a battery problem not having enough charge to get past the Garmin screen you might need to replace the battery or it might need to be reset.

Not knowing which model of Garmin it is makes it hard to provide a correct solution. ?

If your Garmin Nuvi 1300 is freezing up or not working correctly, a soft reset can be performed. A soft reset unfreezes the unit and brings you back to the main menu. If a soft reset does not solve the problem, or if you are selling your unit and wish to erase all of your saved information, a hard reset can be done. A hard reset restores the original factory settings to the unit. Once the information is deleted, it can not be restored. Turn on the Garmin Nuvi 1300. Press and hold down the "Power" button. Release the button when the main menu is displayed. The unit is now ready to be used. b> Hard Reset b> Turn the Garmin Nuvi 1300 off. Press your finger against the bottom-right corner of the Garmin display screen. Leave your finger in place as you power the unit on. Release your finger when the display screen asks, "Do you want to erase all user data?" Use your finger to tap "Yes." The unit will begin to reboot. Do not use the unit until the main menu is displayed. The reset process should take about 45 seconds. Hope this helps.

My JBL docking station is no charging the ipods or holding them in place properly. Does anyone know where this can be repaired? I have tried several different connectors in the station but they all seem to...

When you first got the speakers it should have came with a plastic insert that you put over the actual place you put the ipod on to charge. I know that you definetly need it for the movie playing ipods but not for the older ipods

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

IPod freezes

Every battery has a life span. Li-ion batteries do not have a memory in them like the nickel ones do, but the Li-ion's only can charge up to xxx amount of times.

With that said, your battery is most likely going bad if not already, great way to test it is to run it completely dead.

There are procedures on how to do this involves you opening up the IPOD and and tampering with the insides. I suggest if your not fimilar then to take it to a shop.
