Your handheld does not turn on when you press the power button, or

your handheld does not respond when you tap it

    1. Press any application button to see if you can turn on your handheld that way.

    2. Perform a soft reset:

    a.
    Slide open your handheld.

    b.
Use the tip of your stylus or an unfolded paper clip (or

similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press the

reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your

    handheld.

    3. Charge your handheld for another full two hours.

    a.
Place your handheld in the cradle.

    b.
Make sure the indicator light is on.

Please use the free chat feature that palm offers. I am not sure of any other way to charge your palm. Here is the link. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see Palm Chat. Click on the Chat Now link and follow the instructions. Best wishes.

Pairing tungsten t3 with newer cell phones

I use Bluetooth to synch to my Sanyo cell phone, so I would think you could do the same. I maintain my Contacts in Outlook and synch with my Palm. I then synch my Palm to my phone.

1. Make certain that your Contacts (in Outlook, Palm Desktop, or whatever you use as your source to feed data to your Palm) contains ALL the phone numbers you want in your phone.
2. If, like me, you have a lot of contacts and a limited number (500 in my case) of contacts that can be stored on your phone, you will want to erase all contacts on your phone first.
3. On your Palm, go to Preferences
4. Select Bluetooth -- Bluetooth should be ON, Discoverable (Yes) and Connectable (Yes)
5. Turn on your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone -- I believe the range is 20-30 feet but I have not tested that. When I synch, I have them both on my desk because I want to see that it is working.
6. Select Trusted Devices. Hopefully, your Palm will detect the cell phone. When it does, add your cell phone as a trusted device.
7. Select Contacts on your Palm and use the pull-down menu to select Send Category.
8. Select Bluetooth
9. Select your phone
10. Your phone will probably indicate that it is receiving data. You should soon have all phone numbers stored on your phone without using a direct-connect cable.

Synchronizing Tungsten T3 with desktop or laptop

I recently re-installed my T3 program

What do you mean?
  • Did you restore your T3 from a backup on the PC?
  • Did you install programs on the T3 using the PC's "quick install"?
Is Palm Desktop showing the correct Contact/To-do/Calendar Data?

How are the conduits set up? (From Palm Desktop, select Hotsync->Custom)

T3 sync with Outlook works except for Tasks

A hard reset of my T3 and sync with 'Desktop overwrite HH' on all Outlook conduits seemed to have resolved the problem.

'Reset' each time after hotsynching

Do you still have administrative access to your laptop? IIRC there are some problems with using PD with a non-admin account.

I would recommend that you back up the "good" backup data on the Laptop. In PD, Choose Tools/Options, the "Data Directory" entry shows where the data is stored (in a subdirectory that looks like the first six characters of the Palm's User ID)
