Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
To set a password on virtually any wireless router you can do the following: First, go to "Start" and "Run." Type in "cmd" without the quotes. When the Command Prompt comes up type in the following, without quotes: "ipconfig" Locate the box that says "IP Address" and remember that number. Go to your default internet browser and type in that number. (Note: If it does not work, when typing the "IP Address" in the internet browser, type the following, without quotes: "192.168.1.1" or "10.1.1.1") If a box comes up asking for the login and password, it is probably either blank or of the following: Username: admin Password: admin or Password: admin Now go to "Advanced Setup." Click on "WEP" and select "Enable" and choose either 64 bit or 128 bit encryption. Click the box called "Passphrase" and type in what you want the password to be. Click "Save Settings." Click on "WEP" again and remember what Key 1 is. (Note: This is important.) Now you can set all users to this.
