I have a HP dc7600 SFF. Tried to Install 2 graphics cards no vid

I have a HP dc7600 SFF. Tried to Install 2 different graphics cards - Ati hd2400xt or a Nvidia 6200 both pci-e16x, Neither card gets video, no error beeps, boots up into windows because I can hear that through the onboard speaker. The fan on the hd2400 is working. I am at a loss!

  • Anonymous Jan 13, 2010

Yes I updated the drivers, the Hd2400 is a dm59 so i got a new cable coming in the mail hope that is the problem?

  • Anonymous Jan 13, 2010

I've thaught about that! The hd2400xt is a low power consumption card so I was thinkin' 240 should be enough - I have a xfx ati hd 4350 in another build with a 300 watt power supply and it isn't bad - plays games well. I will eventually have to take it apart and swap out the cards? Even though I don't want to - If it works why mess with it! Thanks guys for replying!

The dc7600 SFF only comes equipped with a 240 watt power supply. I think this may be causing your problems.

I am currently looking for a graphics card for the same comp with the HIS ATI HD 4350 in mind, but the website states that a 300 watt power supply is recommended.

I have an ATI - Radeon AGP HD 3450 512 mb video card. can i use it in my hp compaq dc7600 ultra slim with any problems.? can someone please help me out.thanks.

Hi Michael,

The HP DC7600 Ultra Slim Desktop only has either onboard Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset graphics or a single PCI slot for you to add a PCI (not PCI-express) graphics card.

The system board does have a PCI-express slot, however this is not fully implimented by HP and is only used to run a secondary additional monitor from the onboard Intel Chipset graphics when used with an HP-specific adapter.

AGP is not present on the system board and is therefore not supported.

On a related note, also be aware that some PCI graphics cards required the PCI 2.2 bus standard to be supported in the PC - I have no idea if the Ultra-Slim actually supports this, so do further research to ensure compatability before purchase of any PCI graphics card for your machine.

Good luck!

Monitor on my DC5000 SFF will not turn on, it says there is no signal.. I tried a different monitor and that did not power on either when i tried. Could this be a graphic card problem? Is there any way I...

Yes, it definitely sounds like either your graphics card or video cable are bad.

Before you get a new graphics card, make sure you check all of the connectors on the video wire and the graphics card and make sure no pins are bent, broken off, or stuck in the plug in the back of the graphics card.

Another option is to try a completely different video cable that you know is working. If you do this and your monitor still does not turn on, it's almost definitely a bad graphics card and needs serviced/replaced.

I hope this helps :)

Best Regards,

James

My pc (hp dc 7600 sff) giving yellow display during playing games & also not responding to well famous games. I tried my best 4 solving the problem but in vine.

Display Problems tend to be due to a few things. Mainly Hardware, and also software.
I would check the cables from the monitor to the computer. Make sure there are no bent pins. Maybe try a different cable.
Check the settings on the monitor. Maybe reset to default settings.
Check the drivers for the graphic card, that they are the latest ones.
Is the screen always yellow or only when playing games?
Is your DirectX software ok? Maybe re-download and re-install from the Microsoft website.
Does it happen on all games or just certain ones?

ATI Radeon 9250 PCI card not recognised.

Make sure the slot isn't disabled either by jumper settings or in the bios, and the card is securely inserted in the slot. If these aren't the case, you have yourself a bad card, or a bad slot.
