Relisys RTL1720 - distorting picture

I own a Relisys RTL1720, its about two and half years old. Recently i've noticed white speckles flashing across the screen. This usually occurs shortly before the screen becomes completely unwatchable. Pixellated stretches seem to emit from the right hand side and gradually spread across the screen causing the whole picture to distort. The problem seems to disappear when I switch the TV off and let it cool down, but the problem is happening more and more frequently.

Any help or suggestions whould be much appreciated! :-)

Thanks for your response. I'm a little disappointed to hear this TV has worn out after a couple of years. I guess its typical of things maufactured these days. My last TV lasted almost 20 years! lol I wont be buying another Relisys (I think they've gone bust anyway)

46in Vizio LCD HDTV distorted black picture when tv is turned on

Hi There are three things that can cause this problem. Your lcd screen, t-con board or the signal board. Most likelly in your case since you say it's only half the screen it's going to be your t-con board. You can try removing it and cleaning all the contacts and replacing it see if that helps. If that doesn't help then replace it. If that does not solve it then it's going to be your screen.

You can get parts at www.interliquidparts.com

Sound but no picture

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Have sound but no picture on a relisys Rlt3000 - is it dead?

Hi, the problem is probably the inverter board. These are quite cheap to obtain, and very easy to replace. Try these people: www.lcdparts.net
They are realy good! They even give instructions of how to replace the item.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

My picture looks like cartoon characters from new commercials

I had recently noticed the same thing happening with mine. Then the left half of the screen turned black and has various red, green, and blue vertical lines. The right half of the screen shows has the picture just fine. It's exactly right down the middle of the screen.
