Hi, when I connect up the camera to the PC via the USB cable, having installed photoloader 3 onto the PC from the casio disk, I just get a window saying 'autoplay' and 'casio 100' - a searchlight goes back & forth and it finds a 'removeable disk J' - but can't read the photos or upload them onto the PC.
Hi, thanks for the response. I originally tried without installing the supplied software and got the same problem. Any other ideas much appreciated. thanksHi, thanks for the response. This then suggests there is a memory card problem. Do you have means to look at the card via another route? Card Reader. Friends Card reader Photostore.
Or try another card in the Camera/Cable PC set up. Some how you are going to have to prove which is playing dunb. This then suggests there is a memory card problem. Do you have means to look at the card via another route? Card Reader. Friends Card reader Photostore.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

Hi there, If
you want to download the pictures on your camera, try plugging it into
the usb port of your computer using the usb cable. Then turn on the
camera and make sure it is set to REVIEW MODE. Usually, this opens the sofware. It not, then, on your computer, click Start
button >> All Programs >> Accessories and choose Scanners
and Cameras. It will open up the window which will show the pictures
and from there, follow the steps to download them.
Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FIxYa.
Alright..... I had this same problem and I finally figured it out. If your pictures are saved onto the card, then the USB cord will not detect them. If you want to transfer pics via the USB cable, make sure they are saved to your camera. You can copy photos from your card to camera vice versa under your menu settings.
Also, your card CANNOT be plugged into your camera or it will not see anything. I guess the card confuses the camera. Seems really stupid on Nikon's part.
Your camera only has a limited amount of memory, so if you will be limited on how many photos you can save to your camera.
Do this, and it will work.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

You do not need any software for the camera to be recognised.
As you have discovered it can complicate things.
Remove the software.
Vista like XP before it will recognise the camera via the Camera/Scanner Wizard.
Check whether the software CD you received with the camera, support the Win XP OS.
In case it doesn't, go to the Canon web site and download the relevant drivers for you camera and OS.
Good luck!
