I am having the same problem. Bought mine last month. Been a real problem. Support say to buy an external antenna for $45.
I say, shouldn't need one. Located in flat Northern Ohio.

Are you outside with a clear view of the sky? It should find satellites once the unit is turned on. Does it say "Looking for satellites" or "Acquiring satellites"?

If it is "looking for satellites" then it means that the unit have lost all data (time, date, location). If it is "acquiring satellites" then it have date and time, but not location.

Looking for satellites require a longer setup time (could be as much as 15 minutes). Acquiring satellites is much faster (not more than 2 minutes).

Date and time is updated from satellites once the unit gets a satellite lock.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300. When I power the unit on, it says aquiring satellites. It never locates a satellite. Any ideas?

If your using it in your car and your car has tinted windows, the window tint may contain a metal oxide (most common on newer cars) which interferes with the signal. Try holding the unit next to an open window. If that works you may need to get an external antenna from garmin that you can attach on the outside of your car.

Nuvi Blackout

This is a known problem that Garmin is fixing. Look at:

http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support

Under "TOP FAQ" there is an entry for "My nuvi 755T, 765T, 775T or 785T will no longer turn on."

You will need to return your unit to Garmin for them to fix it.

Garmin Street Pilot C330

This seems to be a common problem and my unit has the same issue. Hopefully someone from Garmen monitors this forum and will offer a suggestion or explaination. Perhaps leaving the units in a hot car in the summer fries something that affects sensitivity of the unit.

Garmin nuvi 310 satellite aquire problem

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350. I solved the problem by purchasing a Glisson GPS antenna that plugs into the external GPS connector on the Garmin antenna.

Garmin streetpilot c530

try calling their main number in Olathe, Kansas 1-800-800-1020 - i had the same problem with mine after we had gone online, registered, and downloaded updated software. The sucker would not find satellite signals. I ended up shipping mine back today - hoping they will fix it and send back quickly. The tech guy I worked with over the phone was extremely polite and walked me through some steps that should have solved the problem.
