Not recording i start recording and everything looks good. when i stop the recording i get an error code EEEE and no files were recorded. is my recorder dead or is there any solution? thanks
At first set the recording lenght on your phone(example 5 min) and then start recording, after the recording length is completed it automatically saves your recording file

I've done some searching this seems very proprietary, I would first try contacting the manufacturer directly to see if t hey can shed some light on this issue.
Try looking on cnet or softonics. (they er free software sites that have a little of everything). if its do-able, you'll most likely find the software there, and its free!! GOOD LUCK!!
the files on your voice recorder is actually corrupted just as the computer is indicating.
I don't know how important these files are to you but I'm afraid you might loose them because they are corrupt.
To fix this problem, you need to format the recorder and by so doing you will loose all your files but the recorder will be okay. You will have to put fresh files on the recorder.
Your computer may have been the one that corrupted the files on your recorder.
To format the recorder, while the recorder is connected to your computer, click start menu, go to computer. You will see a drive representing your recorder, right click on the drive, scroll to format and click it. This will format your drive and your recorder will be fixed.
Note, that you will loose all the files on your recorder in the process of formatting.
The ERR message can only be corrected by holding in the DISP/MENU and STOP buttons for two seconds, which results in ALL the material on the recorder being erased. It will say (FOR) for a few minutes while it is erasing everything, then will work again. Solution found at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Olympus-VN-2100-Digital-Recorder-microphone/dp/B000V3NTEU
Press STOP to stop recording.
Click "save" and save the recording to a file in your "My Documents" folder.
Open your "My Documents" folder.
What is the "size" of the file?
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on the file, and click 'Play' (with Windows Media Player).
Does it play?
Does Windows Media Player show the correct length (minutes:seconds) for the recording?
this has happened to me too- with different system error codes also not referred to at all in manual !!! i don't know of solution- and have lost the current recording session by having to just turn the device off and hope for the best... i plan on contacting tascam after this project is complete since my unit is still under warranty - GOOD LUCK out there
Format of the DS-30 If you format the recorder, all files will be removed and all function settings will return to defaults except date and time settings.
1 While the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button for 1 second or longer. The menu opens ( P91,93). 2 Press the + or – button to choose “Format”. 3 Press the OK or 9 button. The “Cancel” indicator flashes. 4 Press the + button to choose “Start”. 5 Press the OK button. After the “Data Will Be Cleared” message is on for two seconds, “Cancel” will turn on. 6 Press the + button again to choose “Start”. 7 Press the OK button. Formatting begins and an indicator flashes on the display. “Format Done” displays when formatting ends
you can not do this with the Olympus ws-100, you need a dictation machine that has the editing function which allows you to easily
insert, overwrite, partially erase files and continue on the same file, most of the digital dictation units have NEW FILE BUTTON , you will stay recording on the same file till you press new. Look at Olympus DS-2300. Olympus DS-33300 or ds-4000.
I have one of these recorders, I actually have 4 or 5, since discontinued I believe, and one is stuck at 43 min remaining.
I think that problems start when you remove the battery while
the recorder is / was in the process of recording (or in play mode) I now press stop while recording before opening the battery case to switch a battery
Hiya HKL1, incase you've still got the problem with your recorder i thought i'd post a solution. I think you may have renamed the folders after saving your data onto your computer, i dont know how i did it but i did! so the recorder isnt recognising the folders as the ones they started with so you have to format/reset the recorder. good luck =)
some thing
but I don't know how to set to the phone
