One morning i turned on my LG 52SX4D 52 in. DLP HDTV. The picture was a bright green like the color of a frog ( not as dark ) I replaced the lamp light for $200.00 adjusted / reset the color as stated once light was replaced, still didn't fix the problem. 2nd i than checked the cables / unpluged them, tv still bright green / lime color. Don't know what to do next!! Tv is 2 years old and anything i need to fix is at my cost!! Can anyone can give me advice!!
Ic chips?? I don't know what they are!! How would they affect the color?? How would you replace these chips and what would the cost be?? As for the cables, all cables were removed from the tv and before plugging the cables back in, i turn the tv on and still menu / pic was green. I also have been reading about these tvs. Could the pin wheel that spins / that changes the colors, be causing the problem?? If so how would i fix that. One more thing this may be it as well ( I copyed this from a web site!! ) -->
If you own a DLP television and are experiencing a washout of your usually brilliant picture with a primary color (red, green, blue) overtone, a light engine could be just what you need.
A light engine!! What is that?? How would you fix this??

One more thing if the light engine is what holds the bulb as stated in a comment, i noticed when changing the bulb, there seemed to be a black burn mark on one of the panels!! Could this be the reason for my problem?? If so how do i replace the light engine and what is the cost??
Thanks!!

Just got the price back for the wheel and engine (they come together) $1000.00 cdn. That is half the price of the tv. Unless you have the warranty which would have cost about $1000.00, LG want nothing to do with you. They were less then helpful.
We just had ours fixed. It is the colour wheel in the tv. Our screen turned green then orange before it died. Our servicer said it was caused by smoke and dust that settled on the wheel locking it up. He cleaned it and is currently looking for a new wheel replacement, he says it will need to replaced within the year, he is going to get back to us with a price, will add it here when we get it.

Hi: You may have a problem with the inverters in the unit, they are responsible for lighting up the back panel. Check or have checked the power supply voltage to the inverters, should be around 18-24 volts DC. Also leaky capacitors on the power supply will cause this issue as well as leaky or puffy capacitors on the inverter.
Its cause this the life span of the lamp is come to an end. To see the life hours of your lamp. Just go to the service mode.If you inclined to get into service mode on LG DLP TVs, simply turn your system off, then use the remote and press the following buttons with about .5 to .75 seconds delay between presses: MUTE-1-8-2-POWER. Once in the service menu, select the bottom item, Options, and from there you can reset the lamp .
