I need a Korg EXB-SCSI interface owners manual. The interface is especially made as an option for several Korg Keboards and sound modules. I just installed one in my Korg Triton Rack Module. The interface shows up in the ''Big Yellow LCD'' display on start up, but will not recognize a SCSI drive. In fact the Triton Module will not finish booting beyond that point unless I disconnect the SCSI Drive. I used to use SCSI drives in my computers and am familiar with them. Does the interface need a separate software driver installed? In the Triton owners manual it refers to this manual and says it will tell you how to set the SCSI Id for external SCSI drives, but I've heard that Korg denies the exsistance of any such manual. The SCSI interface is an option that you can add on so It must have come in a box with everything one would need to use it. To all you Triton users out there I would appreciate any info on this one

Hi there
I have found some details of the printer here http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/STARINMANUALS/Sony%20Security/UP-D50%20-%20Quick%20Spec.pdf
where it clearly states that the printer is SCSI based. This is not a usual printer interface, and it is highly unlikely that your Vaio will have a SCSI interface at all. However it does say "USB compatible with optional SCSI to USB converter cable" with a footnote "Window 2000/XP only" and your Vaio will almost certainly have a USB interface. Unfortunately the drivers on the Sony website here: Sony Global DP UP D50
only go up to Windows 2000/XP with no drivers listed for later versions of Windows, so you may have problems getting a driver to work.
But I think your major problem will be getting the cable to link the two. Sony's web site doesn't come up with anything and more general searches don't come up with a lot. My best suggestion is to determine the type of SCSI plug/socket on the printer and then go for an external SCSI adaptor (USB) with the appropriate plug/socket and then use an appropriate SCSI to SCSI cable to link the two. Without knowing more about your Sony's SCSI interface type I'm afraid I can't help more.
Hope this has been a little helpful
Cheers
SCSI to USB converters are available, but I doubt they will be of much help for you, you'd still need a special driver for your scanner. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate support "XP Mode", essentially a Windows XP environment running in a virtual machine. I'd try to get the SCSI interface card and scanner to run inside the VM as a workaround.
there is a hardware upgrade that has to be made first. I highly doubt if it is still available. You might find someone witha used one. They were not very popular. The scanner option used a SCSI (pronounced "scuzzy") interface which requires a seperate connection to a nearby computer with a SCSI interface board.
