I had a similar problem with my Sansa MP3 Player... It wouldn't recognize the device until I had installed Windows Media Player 10 or higher... Once I upgraded, it started recognizing the MP3 Player.
Are you running Windows? And below Windows Media Player 10?
The RCA Jet S2001A does not come with a CD. Drivers are "built-in" to work with Windows. I don't know about a Mac. The player will appear in Windows Explorer & Windows Media Player (10+) as a device called "JET", not as a drive letter. Firmware updates are available via www.RCAAudio.com.
first if it recognizes the mp3 player, just copy them over thru folder to folder drag and drop. If it does not recognize the mp3 player download driver and re-install these as ness: http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/faq.aspx?product=124
I had the same probIem...I downloaded the upgrade firmware for my RCA Jet 2001 ran the software while holding the 'Play' button down on my player the entire length of the format and install. This overides something and lets it format and install. Hope this helps someone
Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it
off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the
USB port, then update the firmware.
