If it is actually speed pot related, then removing the speed pot
and spraying down the shaft of the speed pot (from the top)
with electronic contact cleaner, may help to make clean
the pot resistive element and that should fix that. If it's
not a speed pot issue and happened after replacement of
the batteries, assuming they are 35/37 AH AGM batteries,
check the batteries for current delivery at the rated current.
It could be just a battery that is not providing the rated current
to the motor after 50 feet.
I solved a really familiar problem 2 days before here at home.
The problem is, that your notebook gets really hot within minutes. As it
gets to an exact temperature, the CPU first slos down, then shuts down,
to prevent damage, and to cool down. If it's an "old" notebook (I mean
at least 1,5 - 2 years old), then the thermal paste on the processor got
dry, and it doesn't do its job anymore. You have to apply a new amount
of thermal paste (BTW you really should do it at least once a year).
1. Turn the notebook upside down
2. Take out the screws from the biggest panel (must be next to the heat grille)
3. Take out the screws from the cooler of the CPU
4. There will be a lot of white stuff on the CPU, clean it VERY carefully (tissue with alcohol, but NOT brush)
5. Apply a little thermal paste on the CPU
6. Take the CPU cooler back, and take the screws back
7. Take the bottom panel bake, and take the screws back
Here is a tutorial of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3Izxh7J44s
The other solution is to buy a notebook cooler: http://www.notebookcooler.info/media/ante-notebook-cooler-s.jpg
This could be that the battery is slow. Newer swiss watches have a indicator in the movement of the watch that makes the sweep second hand skip every few seconds to indicate that the battery is slow. On regular japan made watches the watch just simply starts slowing down. Your watch could be new but the battery in it could have a long shelf life.
