It should be a standard Eureka U belt. That number you have is not a good number. Most repair shops should have this one. The R belt is a real thin and different material.

Remove the base plate. It is held with screws accessible from under the unit.
Inside you will see the beater bar and the belt.
Remove the beater bar. This is self explanatory once you see inside the power head.
Remove the old belt.
Find a replacement from your local dealer or online.
Replacement is the reverse of removal.
This is a simple job you only need a screwdriver.

Eureka says size U BELT... NO!! I have tried this numerous times. I finally took off a belt from an old vac. and it works !!! dirt devil size 5 belt is the way to go!!
