The problem was with the adaptor. We changed that and it worked. However we still have the problem of the missing battery coil. So it will not work without the adaptor

I have 1952 ford 8n and will run 5 minutes then start missing and hesitating could the coil be getting hot? Its 6 volt coil with internal resistor but tractor was converted to 12 volt.

try replacing the coil with a straight 12 volt coil and not a resistance coil as the missing could be from a overheated coil
if the coil is at fault then when the engine starts to miss then then coil would be hot to the touch

My battery light and check engine light on my Chrysler pacifica 2004 came on when I got off work I drove car home it started running rough wouldn't go over 50 I made it home shut off car then tried to...

Sounds like you lost your belt. Or your alternator went bad. The clicking you hear is from the starter due to little power it can't start. The check engine lght might be wired to the battery light so check the belt if it's still there you will probably need a alternator and a battery charge. Also if you lost your belt your car might have overheated also.

Sometimes you can use digital multimeter to check for ignition mis-fire.
With engine idling, touch spark plug wires, where applicable, one at a time and note the reading. You don't take the spark plug wire loose and you don't penetrate the insulation, just touch it. Some of the readings I've seen around .6 or .7 volts, not even a full volt. If you find one or two that are bouncing off zero, then you backtrack those. It's an inductive reading or whatever you want to call it.
Hopefully the misfire code will tell you which cylinder, then you check fuel--spark--compression on that cylinder. If p0300 mis-fire code, multiple cylinder misfires and the system can't determine which cylinder.
You might have a vacuum leak?
The basic for a rough idle, you check for a leak of some kind, fuel--egr--vacuum.

You just follow these steps:

1.Remove the battery and Adaptor
2.Press and Hold the On buttun for 30 seconds (without battery/adaptor,this is for reset the BIOS in your Laptop)
3.Now you just connect the adaptor with your laptop
4.On the adaptor socket main switch in main board
5.Watch the Laptop charging Light is ok or not. Also watch the Light in Adaptor is lighting normally or not.if all are normal then try 6th step otherwise problem in your Laptop.Just go for an authorised service center.

6.Try to ON the Laptop

All the Best....

Just finished 12 volt conversion on 49 V8 flathead. Starter engages but engine won't start. Appears to be getting fuel.

You might not have spark as the 12 volts needs a ballast resistor or the points burn out preytty quick. 8 volts at the coil in run with the points open and 0 with the points clsed and battery voltage at the coil when cranking. coil wire near the intake manifold while cranking should jump at least 2 inches. Closed points should be 0 volts at the neg on the coil. pos and neg should be the same 12 volts with the points open. if not either the coil or the points are bad. The condenser can fail and no spark with all the rest right

Battery will not keep a charge.

Get a 2 amp charger and charge the battery fo 3 hours or so. While the battery is charging, check the fuses and check the wiring harness connections between the flywheel and the battery.

Start the bike and rev it up. Use a DC voltmeter to check the battery voltage while running. The voltmeter should read 14+ volts. If not then there may be a problem with the stator.

Pleas rate this solution. Thanks!
