Washer will not Spin during SPIN CYCLES

My washer will fill with water, it will spin both ways during the wash cycle but when it goes to the spin cycle you can hear the machine draining the water but it does not spin. It will then go onto the rinse cycle where it will again spin both ways and then you can hear it start to drain and go into the final spin cycle but the machine does not spin for it. Help PLEASE!

My washer works fine until you get to the rinse cycle. It will not spin nor engage at all. I have to rinse my clothes manually!

My Washer fills with water, washes the clothes, but stops at the spin cycle and won't dp anything else. It doesn't drain the water or progress to the next cycle. It's sitting full of water right now. I've tried to manually switch the cycles but that doesn't work. I've pressed the button that tells the washer the lid is closed several times and that doesn't work either. Please help.

Check the lid switch. Through out time the lid switch housing can come apart from years of heat and cold. When I checked mine, I found the glue deterriated and the housing came apart. What I did to fix it is I zipped tied the housing together and did a functional check and it worked.

Check the lid switch on the washer its below where the tab on the washer lid that goes down in the body of the washer there two screws at the base of the control panel back these out and raise the panel you will see a connector coming from the washer disconnect it and put a jumper wire where it goes to the control panel turn it to spin pull out the knob if it spins replace the switch if it doesn't reply to me and we will go from there

Your machine should pause momentarily after water is extracted then start spin cycle. This should happen automaticly. If it doesn't? Try this, push timer button in and then pull it backout. If it begins to spin when you have done this you have a timer problem. The reason I say this is, there is a brake that is actuated as the machine agitates that requires a momentary stop of motor at the end of pump out to release spin brake. When you push timer button and stop machine. You are doing manually what timer should have done automaticly. If the machine has the pause and still does not spin the problem is the clutch-brake unit which would require a repairman. Hope this helps.

Why did my washer quit spinning out in spin cycle

Quite often the problem with spin cycles is that the cycle cannot start until a sufficient amount of wash/rinse water has drained. So what will often happen is that the washer drains, the cycle starts, a lot of water comes out of the clothes, it stops, waits for the water to drain, then restarts. If the drain pump or drain lines are restricted or blocked or the pump is faulty, the unit may never achieve spin cycle.

Washer won t fill water

pipes maybe clear but is your area wher you live prone to limescaling? where the water pipe/pipes go into the machine there is a switch to shut on/off the flow of water during whatever cycle you want.this might be blocked or sticking. first try to select different cycles and see if any of those fills the machine with water. if no water comes its one of two things. that switch is faulty or communication between the switch and the front consule is at fault.
contact your supplier after trying to go thru a few different cycles.

Wash doesn't go through full cycle

I have a Maytag model A490 clothes washer. It works fine up to the rinse cycle and then shuts down. When it reaches this point it has become necessary to manually advance the dial a short ways whereupon it will fill with water and complete the rinse and spin cycles. This happens on both the regular and the permanent press cycles. What needs to be done to fix this problem?

Washer will not Spin during SPIN CYCLES

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. (consult your manual to know where/how filter is cleaned). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
