Toshiba SP 6100 Audio Problem Windows 7

Yes,....good Ol' Windows updates. Known to knock a system partially out of commission.

Windows has lost the address to the Audio drivers. The reason it states Audio is working properly, is because Windows is full of it.

The Toshiba Satellite A25 series of Notebook PC's, did not come with Windows 7. It came with Windows XP. You, or someone else installed Windows 7.

The updates knocked the audio driver address file to the curb.
All you have to do, is install the Win7 installation disk again, and perform a Repair.
(Non-Destructive Installation)

OR, use the Restoration Disk, (Backup disk)

Toshiba eSupport does not provide audio drivers for Win Vista, or Win 7, for this model. Only Win XP,

All you have to do is to install the sound/ Audio Drivers
Satellite M70-340 Sound Drivers WIN XP
Click the above link and download the Sound Drivers for Windows XP.
It is a zip file. Open the file and Install the required Drivers

1. download the audio driver from the toshiba's website with windows XP as operating system
2. go to downloaded audio driver folder
3. right click on the audio driver file
4. click properties, click compatiblity
5. tick the windows xp sp3 box
6. click apply and click ok
7. run the driver

1. uninstall the sound driver

2. reinstall the new driver

3. update this driver

4. restart ur system

Sorry,your sound card driver for windows 7 is not release by tosiba company.Even if they have release driver for Windows Vista too.It might have work.

So you won't be able to play audio sound on your laptop using windows 7.Either you need to downgrade to Windows XP or windows 2000 or you may get a new USB external sound card which support windows 7.

If you can't find the driver for Win 7 try using the Vista driver from the Toshiba download page. You can also see what xp identifies the driver as and see if you can find the win 7 driver for that audio device direct from manufacturer.

You almost have it correct. There is one more patch you must install before SP32646.

There is (All I'll list is for Vista), Realtek Audio Driver for Windows Vista (v6.0.1.5343; 01-30-2007; 15.18M)

HD version. Realtek HD Audio Driver for Windows Vista (v6.0.1.5343; 01-25-2007; 15.18M)
Before you re-install make sure you remove any other driver listed in add/remove programs.
