LG V782W Combo DVD/Video Player - DVD won't eject

Try ejecting while the dvd is playing or idling on the menu, mine will not eject from Pause or Stop modes.

I had the same problem with my LG DV7711P dvd player. Everything worked on the front panel but when I pushed eject nothing happened. From reading other forums there should be a manual eject button on some dvd players, which you can activate using an unrolled paper clip. My dvd player doesn't seem to have one so I pulled off the outer case and opened the drive manually-- this was surprisingly easy. There is a small rubber band ("drive belt") inside the dvd drive (mine is just below the tray as it ejects), which can stretch over time, and this causes your dvd to have the problem you are describing as an over-stretched belt doesn't provide enough tension to open the tray. You can apparently replace this belt cheaply at an electronics store, but after pulling my drive to pieces and manually opening and closing the tray a couple of times, mine seems to work fine again. It's easier than it sounds, give it a go (obviously unplug your dvd player completely first!!)
