Lexmark C510 Laser Printer- Grinding Sound on startup and while printing

Hello and thank you to you lifesavers.  My Lexmark C510 makes a grinding sound on startup and then continues to groan while it prints.  It is also recently out of warranty.

I have the same problem. The grinding sound is not constant. It grinds more on startup and then every few seconds while printing.

Similar sound on warm up and then when printing some research makes me think it is the fuser bearings but I am not sure

I have exactly the same problem. Has anyone come across a way to fix it? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Krissy! I had the same problem with the horrible grinding noise.

I took out all of the toners and the photo developer and noticed that my Blue toner was leaking all over. After reading your post, I tried replacing the toner. It worked!!! No more noise - and no more mess!

Hi Guys,

The Lexmark service man just left our office after fixing our printer. The cause was our black cartridge!! Over the past few weeks we have replaced the fuser unit and photo developer. I hope this info helps you all as it was driving me crazy listening to that grinding noise all day.

Cheers,

Krissy

I have put up with a banding problem on my Lexmark c510 for over a year, along with a loud grinding noise when printing . The problem still occurs when print a separate page of each C Y M K colour. How...

Lexmark has nozzle check feature, which prints test
page so you can see if nozzles are working. It's under printer
properties/maintenance or similar. But depends which type of ink did you use for refilling. If you used so-called universal ink for all printers, then you're stuck. I tried such
ink on my Z33 and got same result. I ended with new Canon i550.If you did use such low-cost ink, i suggest you totally disassemblecartridge, clean it thoroughly, dry it and get new ink specially designed for Z65. When i got this result, i took out sponge, clean it, clean cart
itself until clean water was coming from nozzles, dried it out and refill. let me know the result.

Lexmark C510 printer doesn't print yellow color.

Try the old one again. If this works you have a defective new catridge. This sometimes happens.

Lexmark C510 is making grinding noises while printing large jobs

I found another posting stating that the culprit was the black toner cartridge. Sure enough I changed our black cartridge and the grinding noise has stopped. No wonder the grinding noise was not happening all the time only when the black cartridge got low. Thanks for the help!
