Computer Windows 7 wireless printer driver has to be reinstalled every few days Hp Printer Photosmart 2700 when not using USB

You have tried your best with possible troubleshooting to fix the issue. There are few possible workaround solution for this issue.

First, If the USB Cable is more than 3-5 ft long, it could be the reason. Also, if the USB Cable is worn out or is broken in-between.

2nd, The printer does not seems to accept command from PC ( win 7 ) using the HP Software. So Uninstall the Software. Restart the PC.

Do not install Printer Software. Connect the Printer USB to PC and Windows 7 will display new hardware detected message.

Continue with the New Hardware Found Wizard and install the drivers it will list by Default.

Try to print and it should work.

If this works, You will be able to print without any problems however if you want to scan a document, you need to use Applications like MS-Paint, Microsoft Word etc, or Use the Scanners and Camera option in Control panel.

You can then install the software disk of printer or the downloaded software from Hp website to install Printer software for SCanning.

If you do so, you will find 2 printer icons in Printers Folder. First one will be with WSD text ( this icon is created when you connect the printer using USB without installing the printer software ) and 2nd icon will be HP Photosmart C7200 All in One ( this will be the Software installed ) and this will be default icon with check mark.

Whenever you want to print from any application, You need to click on File - Print - choose the WSD icon to print.

No, there are no drivers for this printer with W7.
However, we can add the additional drivers and make it print.

Please click on Start on the computer----Devices and printers----Add a printer----Add a local printer

----Select Use an exhisting port-----Please select LPT 1 and from the drop down selet USB 001
(Please do not proceed further until we get USB 001)

----Next----On left Select HP----

On right select HP Photosmart 2710 or any related Photosmart printer series----

Next----Next----Select do not share this printer----Next----Print a test page----Finish

Reinstall the full version of your printer driver again. Check all cables mostly usb one. Once loaded the drivers, don't forget to print the test page, you will have to check on your printer properities for best results.

check if they r are any documents r pending in the print que, u can try to cancell all the print job. also u can check the printer port, if the ip add is correct, & if u need the driver u can log in to hp.com & get the driver

this will usually happen if you're disconnecting the USB cable from the computer and putting it back on a different USB ports. try to connect it to where it was working before. this is also true for other USB devices such as scanners and webcams

Solution

For Windows XP

*Go to Control Panel > Printers > HP Photosmart c6200 series > Right Click > select Delete

*Load the CD / Downloaded Software for HP c6200 series

*Select add a device > select usb (if preferred)/ wireless

*Wait for the installation to finished and repair the settings.

*Restart PC/ Try Scanning Again.

If it doesnt work, I suggest try uninstalling and reinstalling the software completely using the CD itself.

Yah, go on support.hp.com and verify that it has a Windows 7 driver installation for it. Some printers from HP do not. Some have a driver that came with windows 7 for usb only, in which case you can hack it to add Standard TCP/IP port once it has been installed USB. Of course that might support ALL of the things that the printer can do.

Many issues are caused when the HP Photosmart is connected to computer using a USB cable before the HP Photosmart software is installed on the computer. IF you connected the HP Photo smart to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps.

Troubleshooting common setup issues :
1) Discoonect the USB cable from the computer.
2) Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it.)
3) Restart you computer.
4) Turn off the HP Photosmartm wait one minute then turn it on.
5) Reinstall the HP Photosmart software.

If your installation is incomplete, or if you connected the USB cable to the computer before prompted by the software installation screen, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the software. Do not simply delete the Hp Photosmart application files from your computer. Make sure to remove them properly using the uninstall utility provided when you installed the software that came with the HP Photosmart.

To uninstall from a Window computer and then reinstall
1) On the Windows taskbar, click Start, Settings, Control Panel (or just Control Panel).
2) Double-click Add/Remove Programs (or click Uninstall a program).
3) Select HP Photosmart Driver Software, and then click Change/ Remove.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
4) Disconnect the HP Photosmart from your computer.
5) Restart your computer.
Note : It is important to that you disconnect the HP Photosmart before restaring your computer. Do not connect the HP Photosmart to your computer untill after you have reinstalled the software.
6) Insert the HP Photosmart CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM drive and then start the Setup program,
7) Follow the onscreen instructions and the instructions provided in the Setup Guide that came with the HP Photosmart.

try downloading the software from the HP website and then reinstall the printer. But also try to uninstall it using control panel add/remove programs, restart your computer, and then reinstall using the downloaded driver.
