I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 3 and there's always a white film on the dishes. It almost seems like the rinse cycle isn't running and the soap gets dried on the dishes. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? We're using the suggested soap and jet dry.
Rodney B if you are sure that the white film is detergent and not hard water deposits, then look at how you are using the detergent. When you watch the TV ads for dw detergents, they are showing baked on/extemely dirty dishes being put in the dishwasher and coming out clean. Well they do this as the dw detergent is designed to break down protein based food products. Fats, oils, and such. If you are prewashing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, then there is nothing for the detergent to attack and attach to, so it ends up staying in the dishwasher. If you are going to rinse your dishes, then you need only 1 tablespoon of detergent. Dishwashers are designed to clean using 4 parameters, hot water of 130 degrees, water, detergent,& pressure of the water jets. That is how they clean dishes. Now if this is hard water deposits, switching to an enviromently friendly detergent which is high is Citric Acid (What gives Tang drink its tartness) this will reduce this issue. Hope this helps

Bubbles in bottom of machine at end of wash
Hard water "filming" is caused primarily by the higher deposit content in hard water clogging up the jets and nozzles. Therefore, there is not the normal pressure for washing or rinsing. This can be eliminated by turning on the dishwasher, while it is empty, and waiting for it to fill and go into it's wash cycle. They open the door and add 3 cups of white vinegar and finish running through the cycle. This will open the nozzles and jets to their full capacity. After that, use a rinse aid for sure.

White deposit on my glasses and they seem not to come clean.
I know I have hard water, but the old Kenmore I had in the kitchen before did not leave the film. It is not just the glasses, nothing seems to get clean. I noticed the water was not that hot...is the heating element supposed to get hot (it is not warm at all)?
