Which Replacement Power Board for LNT4665F Samsung LCD TV?

I'm having the same issues apparently thousands of Samsung LCD TV owners are having with there sets. Power on recycling multiple times and then displaying a pink dotted screen. Turn off then on again, and it appears fine. Getting worse with time. Assuming power capacitor issues.

Rather then de-soldering and soldering on new capacitors, I would just like to replace the power board. I don't feel comfortable soldering the replacement capacitors onto the power board.

But, which board do I purchase? My Samsung TV Model Number: LNT4665F, Samsung Model Code: LNT4665FX/XAA

Do I purchase the BN44-00168B Power Board or the BN44-00168A Power Board?

By the way, are these upgraded quality power capacitors on the power board or the same as the TV origonally came with?

Thank you

Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Thaks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

If you want to replace the board, go with the B, its a newer version, I think like a lot of power boards for displays they are not properly cooling. If you replace it, make sure you have cooling air around the back, and keep the dust down.

'pop' noise coming from upper left corner of a Samsung un55h6203af LCD TV. TV will not power on, but there are blue status lights on T-Con board.

I don't have the service manual for your set in front of me but I believe this sound is coming from the inverter board, the set takes 24 vdc from the power board into this board then increases the voltage to about 600 volts to drive the CCFL tubes in the panel, a guess would be you have a bad xfmr that is arcing on that board.

BN97-02472C issue It doesn't seem to be a power problem. I read about the capacitor problem with many of the Samsungs out there but I don't have the relay clicking like most people with cap issues....

Hi,
Unfortunately capacitors have been projected as a cure to all possible problems in an LCD tv by some you tube experts. The actual problem may lie in the power board or the main board. An expert is needed to check and find the actual culprit.

Over time, my 2007 Samsung LCD TV, model LNT4665F has developed random vertical pixel noise lines scattered throughout the screen. What could be causing this?

This TV is known for powersupply failures and this can be effecting the incoming voltages into the mainboard (AKA tuner board). This would cause the noise. Please have someone look into the powersupply and check that the proper voltages are coming from it. If they check out ok, you need to replace your mainboard.

It sounds like you did not properly reinsert the ribbon cables, also verify that you do have 12vdc feeding the T-CON board, you may have to clean the contacts on the connectors also.

Won't come on, only clicks

Dear Gary,

It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Have same tv and same problem samsung lnt4665f

We have the same problem with our 46" Samsung LCD Tv LNT-4665F. It's only 2 years old and unfortunately it's out of warranty too. Our tv would not power on and just does this clicking sound. We called to get it serviced and we will need to pay $95 to have somebody comeout and diagnose the problem or we bring it to the shop and pay $50 to diagnose the problem. we've never had any problem with our SONY TVs. we regret buying Samsung!
