Brother 575 model- I tried the solutions posted - my machine has no "auto" mode just fax/tel, manual, fax only, tele only. I have connected it correctly, now what?
If you have the fax-575 there should be a TAD setting.
This is the setting you would use if you're using an answering machine on the same phone line as your fax machine.
To set the Recieve Mode :
Press Recieve Mode. The LCD display shows your current selection.
Continue to press Recieve Mode until your new selection appears. After 2 seconds the screen returns to the date and time display, along with your new Recieve Mode setting.
The 4 Recieve modes are Fax Only, Fax/Tel, TAD:Answering Machine, Manual.

My Brother Fax-575 doesn't change modes when pressing "Recieve Mode" Repeatably. All I see is "DR Mode In Use" and then "Manual". I remember setting this up before and seeing FAX, FAX/TEL and Manuel but I can't seem to get back to it.
Our fax machine is stuck on "manual" mode. We want it to automatically receive faxes, but don't seem to be able to change the receiving mode. Pressing the receive button doesn't do anything.
