Hello, My name is don.My question is..i have a Samsung 46'' flat screen HDTV..i also have a Samsung Blue-Ray In Box Surround Sound that are connected as per instructions. I have surround sound only when a dvd is being played through my blue ray, but i have no surround sound otherwise coming through my tv. I use HDMI cables for my blue ray DVD player, not sure if you do. If so, make sure surround sound is connected to your TV in the right jack. My surround system is old, so only uses RCA's (red, white, yellow). I plug mine into the audio out jacks (red, white) just below the HDMI 1 jack. Only the red and white are required for sound but also can use video (yellow) for higher quality. That is the main audio out. Plug into that and you should have all sound that is on your TV also sent to your surround system.
Hello... Your TV speakers are turned off. If you don't have a sound bar or a surround sound system, go into the TV menu, audio, speaker settings and turn them on. If you have a sound bar or surround sound system, use the remote for that system to adjust the volume. I hope this helps!
yes you need to connect audio out from the tv to audio in on the dvd surround. you need the red/white phono to phono leads, simply connect together and select audio (av,au) on the input selection.
Got your post, I will work with the model #s. Get back with you soon. Also a tip for now: HDMI carries true digital video and audio so you may not need the optic cables.

No it won't be like surround sound, but you'll have the next best thing: a nice, powerful, natural Hi-Fi sound. I have a 46 inch 1080p Sony connected to a Sony Blu-Ray and Bose Cinemate Speakers. No complicated rear speakers wiring, no awkward center speaker to hide. The only drawback is that Bose doesn't have (yet) a code to operate the Blu-ray player with the Cinemate remote control.
