Although boost is a ppd version of nextel, the sims cards are different and are not interchangeable between devices........you can contact SprintNextel and they will give you the "subsidy unlock" code, which is the special code required for your device to stop looking for a specific sim card. If they wont give you the code then you can google "motorola instant unlock" or whatever brand device it is and chose from the large list of web services that can send you the key for just a few dollars. GOOD LUCK AND PLS RATE THIS POST!!!!!!!

I290 is saying insert sim when inserted. my sim card works in other phones and it says the same thing when another sim is inserted

Obviously your sim card reader is bad or the metal clasp that holds your sim card firmly against the reader is warped. This would prevent the phone from reading your sim

My Nextel i880 says enter special code what should I do

Sound as though maybe you're trying to use a "boost" sim card on a Nextel phone. The phone has to be unlocked in order for that to work.

Motorola i205

If this phone was originally a Boost phone, it is more then likley on the IDEN network, which is exclusive to Nextel/Boost. Once the new SIM from the company other then Nextel/Boost is put in the phone, it will ask for a special code- thus rendering the phone useless on the new network. IDEN is only used by Nextel/Boost and another company out of the South called southernlinc.

My Motorola i415 is locked !

There is no actual "Special Code". The phone is programmed for one, but it won't work. If you can get to a Sprint Nextel repair center, ask them to use RSS to unlock the codeplug. Also note that many Nextel SIM cards will do this to a Boost phone.

My boost screen displays please wait to enter special code and its 8 digits

The phone is locked to your carrier. An unlock code must be entered to use the SIM of another carrier in the phone. Check with boost for an unlock code. There are also tons of unlock calculatrs out there, but be careful ... if the wrong code isentered too many times the phone will be permanently locked to boost.
