I wouldn't recommend trying to repair it yourself. I would recommend checking ebay, craiglist or kijiji for another one, usually fixing motherboards is more expensive than actually just buying a new one. make sure hdd is set "master". make sure ide cable is connected correctly to hdd and mb. may have to change jumper setting on hdd either to "master" or "cable select". in bios, make sure ide control is set to "both".
I have a note book vostro 1510. I had install operating system windows 7. after installed i have been seen more problem. 1) webcam not found 2) My mother board cd not suported this windows. plz solve this how i will install my webcam & motherboard.
Most repair shops have simple device they can connect to the power supply to insure that it is providing the correct voltages to the mother board.
