Windows not recognizing wireless mouse.

When I plug in my IH-M185OD
wireless optical notebook mouse, I get a message saying that it malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognize it. The mouse worked fine two days ago and suddenly stopped. I really don't want to have to buy a new one because they are expensive.

I un-installed the software. in theory, shouldn't I be able to plug it back in and it should set up everything it needs to function? Just like it's new. I know this was a problem with Vista, a lot of products didn't function properly with the new operating system

Wireless mouse not recognize after HP elitebook wakes up

Mine does that also. Usually it is because one of both have gone into sleep mode and both haven't woke up. I click on the left and right mouse buttons and it usually comes right up.

GE Wireless "Malfunction" "Unknown Device"

Does the mouse and/or keyboard have a "connect" button on the bottom of either? Try restarting your PC, then, if you have installed new batteries, and the mouse/keyboard is still not connected, try the "Connect" button if any.

My computer stopped recognizing my wireless keyboard & mouse. Says it's missing a driver or that the device is malfunctioning. Don't think it's a battery prob. Do I need a new driver?...

Uninstall the Keyboard driver.
Unplug the Logitech keyboard.
Restart the computer.
Plug the Logitech keyboard back into the computer.
Windows should recognise the keyboard and/or the mouse.
Place Logitech setup disk in drive.
Reload the drivers...

The drivers sometimes corrupt themselves..
You might download the latest drivers for your keyboard/mouse.

I had to reinstall my windows xp and my mouse does not work

First, XP (assuming you have XP--although Vista should act just the same), recognized this type of mouse automatically. All you have to do is plug in the sending unit (a USB device) and Windows should say it found new hardware and install it for you. You then make sure there are batteries in the mouse and turn it on (if it has a switch) and push the little button on the bottom of the mouse that says "connect."
You should then be in business.
Some sending units have a button on them to locate the device--after the mouse is turned on, you push that button and then the mouse button.
Hope that does it for you.
