What do you mean only heated dry the dishwasher does dry with heat only,if you hear the pump coming on every now and then it is draining excess water that will drip from dishes and also is the result of condensation.
I see what you are saying,the newer washers with buttons can not be set to a certain part of the cycle it is pre programed to start and finnish a cycle,but the plastic goods not getting dry could be a result of no or not enough rinse-aid being used,check the rinse-aid dispensor where you open the lid to fill with rinse-aid you will see a dial that you can set it should be on about number 2 if it is on two then set to three and give it a try it may solve your problem you should not need to go higher than four.

I have a lot of plastic cups and they do not get dry at the end of the cycle so I blot them dry a bit - I would like to turn the heated dry back on to complete the job. I could turn the dry back on when I had a dishwasher with a knob instead of the buttons
