I have a accurian portable dvd player APD-3955 and it works but the charger doesnt charge it anymore. Now the battery died and I was wondering if it just needs a new charger. I got it June 2008.

I had the same problem and I found out that is definitely the battery. I had used mine only a few counted times and after 1 year the battery would not charge. I would plug it and the charge light would turn on and stayed for about 4 minutes and then turned off. I called axion and talk to customer support. The tech said that the internal batteries only last for a year whether you use the DVD or not. They would replace the battery for $60 + shipping costs. As you can see... it is not worth it....sometimes you are lucky and get good stuff for cheap but sometimes... you just get what you pay for.... and this is one of the cases. Yes, I am also very disapponted. What a piece of junk!!!! I can still watch DVD with either the charger plugged in or with the car charger. But it lost its Portable side.....

You need to buy a new charger; however' it might be the battery, double check that your battery works fine and then get the charger, or what you can do is the following:

buy a new charger, plugg it into your dvd, if everything goes back to normal then it was your charger, but if the problem continue return your charger and get a new battery
