PSP Firmware update 2.82 to 3.03 problem

Hi, I am really hoping you can help me. I purchased a second hand psp for my little girl for Xmas. To cut a long story short it had custom firmware on it. I am a complete psp beginner so read up as much as I could understand. I purchased some new games to go with the psp which wouldn't play as they said I needed to update - system wouldn't allow apparently because I was using custom firmware. I have managed to go back to Official F/Ware 1.5 then update update by update get to 2.82 using games that came with the console. I am now stuck and cannot update any further as I don't know where to find Offical sony update 3.03, 3.11, 3.40 and 3.50. Please can you help me fix this problem so that my little girl can play her hamster and invizimals umd games which both need updates installed over 5.5 to play the game. I feel absolutely awful that she can't play he new games. Many, many thanks for any help Angie

How do i download games on my psp

Hi liamloki,

To download games on your psp you'll have to update your firmware updated to the latest version. You can do it by installing it via memory stick or by doing it with an internet connection (make sure you have your system plugged in when doing the firmware update)

Once that's done you'll have to use your playstation network id (if you don't have one, create one) and acess to the playstation network on your PSP (you'll need an internet connection to do this).

Access the PStore and choose the games you want to download (it'll need valid credit card information since you're purchasing games). It'll start downloading the game onto your system and when it's done you should be able to play it!.

Hope this helped,
-Luchen

Psp not reading mem card- says no games.

The firmware you are talking about is a chiped psp, iso and cso games mean that they have been copied and put on the pc so u can play them for free, but there is one problem u need to 'chip' your psp the way u can do this is get 'pandoras battery' and 'magic memory stick' and chip it, do it manualy from help sites on the internet or get a friend thats psp is 'chiped and ask him to chip yours with his battary and memory stick

Psp version

Hi There Jugrup,

I have found an online tutorial that will walk you through each step of the process.
before the link. make sure that you Keep in mind that working with firmware is always risky. Having the power supply cut in the middle of a regular Sony authorized firmware upgrade could very quickly turn your Expensive PSP into an Expensive doorstop. Anything that goes wrong with this hacked downgrade won't be covered under warranty, so make sure you follow these steps carefully and in order, and consider yourself warned. Proceed at your own risk. Also, be careful where you grab your copy of the downgrader and the 1.5 updater used in this tips; there have been reports of malicious packages posing as these two items that can actually destroy your PSP.

Here is the link : http://sony-psp-tips-tricks.blogspot.com/2008/01/how-to-downgrade-psp-firmware.html

Hope this helps ?!

NEW PSP TIGERWOODS 08 XMAS PRESENT

Remove your UMD, start your psp, go to settings, system settings, restore default settings, and try again.

Alternatively, you could try to update your firmware, as the game might need a higher version system. Please refer to the manual given below.

WARNING: HAVE YOUR BATTERY CHARGED 100% BEFORE ATTEMPT TO UPDATE FIRMWARE, OR YOU END UP WITH A BRICK.

Error code on PSP

Your psp probably was hacked before and the idstorage was messed up. If you are luckly running on 1.5 firmware, you can run homebrew programs such as idstorage change and idstorage manager to fix the problem, then proceed to firmware update.

Unknown pin number

To do this, you can either install a custom firmware or try to upgrade it with a higher version original firmware. I think after the installation the parental control pass word will be reset.
