Check that the subwoofer is set to on and that the front and center speakers are set to small not large. It will be shown how to do this in the owners manual, if you don't have one it's available online. Search :sony service.

Press the amp menu button on the remote to access the set-up for the receiver. Use the up/down arrows to select the sub; if off change to on. you can also switch the front speakers to small.

If this doesn't take care of the problem it may need service.

I wish to replace a subwoofer on a surround sound system

In most surround sound systems the sub woofer is powered separately and uses a standard RCA coax connection to the receiver/amplifier.

Replacing is simply plugging in the new and reconnecting the coax cable.

Usually the audio signal is Dolby Digital 5.1 the (.1) is the LFE Sub-woofer. The connection is between the Subwoofer RCA connector on the amplifier and connects to the (LFE-Line) in on the subwoofer speaker.

Hope this helps?

My a102jamo surround sound speakers and working

The Jamo speakers need an AV Receiver to drive them properly. The TV doesn't have the correct outputs nor does it have the power required.

The Jamo kit consists of a powered subwoofer ans 5 small surround speakers. Each surround speaker needs to be powered by the speaker output from an an AV Receiver. The subwoofer should also be connected to the receiver, but the connection is a phono/RCA lead from the receiver's "Sub Out" socket.

Your TV connects to the AV receiver via the Optical out.

You must have an external cable connection from the DVD audio output to the surround DVD input. As well there should be an output from the surround marked subwoofer. Connect them with the proper cable

Garbled / feedback sounds from powered subwoofer

The surround processing portion of the unit has a problem. In either stereo or direct mode, the digital procesing is bypassed. This could be just the surround processing IC, but that IC may not be available as a separate part. I would suggest that you bring this unit to an authorized Onkyo service center for an estimate.

How do i connect my subwoofer to my sony dvd player to get the great surround sound?

there will be a subwoofer pre out( needs to be amplified) or if it don't have subwoofer pre out you will have to send the audio out to a stereo reciever that has inputs for the optical ( digital audio signal )( to a stereo or surround system that has 5.1 or higher has full surround sound ) and of course L and R audio inputs and the subwoofer pre out , then the subwoofer pre out will have to be amplified by a reciever , subwoofer amp , surround sound , ect
