Cannon laser fax 1060 P "check paper size"

Hello, our office has a Cannon Laser Fax 1060 P that is constantly giving the error message "Check Paper Size". The alarm button blinks and when I press "stop" it prints out as many as 5 to 10 of the confirmation pages. No one in the office can find the manual. I think when the machine was moved to our office, someone pressed a button while moving the machine that is causing the problem. Before the machine was moved, it was working perfectly. We can send faxes, but receiving faxes is a real problem. Would you please tell me how to "check paper size" so we can get and send faxes again. Thank you very much, Take care,. Margaret

Hi Margaret
Ok,the problem normaly with this model is in the feeding of the paper. For some or other reason the paper is moving to slow threw the machine and then the machine detect it as a longer size paper.

  • Clean the rollers that pick the paper up and clean also the sepatation rubbers under neath the paper pick up rollers. This rubbers is called the separation pads.
  • To clean this rollers, remove the cartridge and you will see the feed roller at the back.
I think what happened with the move the machine might collected dust and now the rollers are slipping.

Thanks for you support

Everytime I receive a fax, the first page prints out then I get a "Check paper size" error

Sounds like you have the paper size in the tray set incorrectly. For example, it may be set to legal, but you have letter size in the tray. This would cause that message to display. Check your setup options for the paper setting.

Error code e100 on canon laser fax L100

E100 means that you have laser trouble, probably laser pcb is bad. Replace it.
But also check the laser shutter.

I've seen this before...

The machine is calling for legal sized paper and it thinks it has it in the paper tray. Check the back stop that is inside the paper tray. It should be a green guide that is closest to you if you pull the tray out. You may have to lift up a flap on the end. Make sure that the paper stop is on the correct paper size for what is in the tray. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Brother 4100 intellifax

Check the blue tab on the inside of paper tray and make sure it is on correct paper size.

Fax machine is very sensitive so try not to put too much paper in it.

Canon Laser Class 3175 facsimile, incoming faxes are being saved in memory, will not print. Cannot clear error message "check paper size".

The problem is that you have a fax saved in memory that is the wrong size for the paper you have in the drawer. Probably it is a legal size, whereas you have letter size in the drawer.Just place some legal size paper in the by-pass tray to print.

Check cover/cart

Two possible solutions remove the top cover (Two screws on top after oepening the cartridge door and two push in black nylon screws in either side). and check the activation lever that activates the cover switch is not riding on top of the switch. Second if this happened your toner cartridge make sure this new cartridge is the correct one for the fax and not a HP modified recycled printer cartridge.
