VSX D511 No input select

The Input slelect button when pressed does nothing.

We are not getting any sound out of our pioneer Kuro, via optical to the receiver. I cannot select a digital or an analogue input because the button does nothing.

Sets on how to factory reset. Switch the receiver into standby mode by holding down "Band" and then pressing and holding the "Standby/On" button for about two seconds. When you see "Reset?" appear on the display, press either the left or right arrow button or the "Auto Surround/Stream Direct" button until "OK?" is displayed. Confirm by pressing "ALC/Standard Surr." An "OK" message will appear on the display to confirm that the factory reset is underway.

Optical audio input is also assignable on this unit. Check to make sure the optical assignment settings is still set to tv/sat. When receiving a digital audio signal the receiver should display DIGITAL on that input. Can also try assigning to a unused input type

No sound using optical cable connected to LG smart tv 60LN5600

Your receiver has 2 optical inputs. If you plugged in the cable to Input 1, you can select the "CD-R" Input on the receiver. Then use the "Signal Select" button to select Optical 1 (O1).

You can also use the "Input Select" buttons on the remote until the receiver says "Digital". Then use the "Signal Select" button to select Analog (A), Coaxial 1 (C1), Optical 1 (O1), or Optical 2 (O2).

Pioneer 409 setting up for surround sound

I think there is a switching problem in the surround receiver. I would take the receiver to a qualified servicer. There is nothing user serviceable in the unit. Question .Why are you using optical output from ps3. I recommend you connect all you a/v devised to the tv. Then connect the opt out of tv to receiver. that way what ever you are viewing will send audio via opt out of tv to receiver. that way you do not have to switch input on receiver. Hope this helps.

Pioneer vsx-454 not working propley.radio not even hissing, managed to get whisper sound via pc aux,i have cleaned inids?

It sounds like you're not in the right input source (mode) or you have a external source selected. I show your unit as a 1995 model and so check your Tape 1, Tape 2 selection buttons. These "Tape" selection button get dirty contacts that will kill the audio. To clean, with the volume low, press them on and off around 20 times each. This works the contacts back-n-forth and will help clean them.

I am trying to hook my playstation 3 up to the pioneer vsx 510 using a digital optic cable. I have everything set on the playstation but still cannot get any sound. I am not that familiar with the reciever...

Be sure youve selected the optical output option on your ps3 (in sound options on your XMB) ... now on the back on the amp under the optical input it says CD. Select CD input using the toggle know or your remote and then on the front of the amp press the button labeled"signal select"(in between DSP select

Pioneer VSX-D608 Optical connection

The manual states that the default association of each digital input in as follows:
  • Optical 1: CD
  • Optical 2: MD
  • Optical 3: TV
  • Coax: DVD
Use the "Signal select" button to set the receiver to use a digital input, and the Dolby/DTS button (above "Signal select") to enable decoding.

As samz11 stated above, a remote is required to alter the digital input mapping.

Pioneer receiver VSX-D411

Yes techtod you are right you do have to tell the receiver what you want it to do usually on the front panel you can access set up menu and go into input set up This is an example Say you plugged the dvd into optical one or coax 1 you must go to the input that says dvd click down till you highlight dig input and then select optical 1 or coax 1 there can be as many as 8 digital inputs so just check wich one you plugged it into and then tell the amp then you should be back to watching your digital movies

Reciever display changing by itself

Sounds like a bad microcontroller. First check on the function selector knob if there is one and make sure it is not stuck - move or rotate it back and forth. Also, if the remote is nearby, try removing the batteries from it.
