ERROR 0xc18a0001 Ink system has failed Quite new

Try the link below. This error is related to air in the lines between the print head and the cartridges. It is quite common and HP are very aware of this.

How do we bypass the expired ink cartridge message on the HP D7360. Magenta ink cartridge is not empty.

Take out both the cartridges > wipe it with clean cloth> then the ink part of the cartridge wipe it with plain white paper> let little bit of the ink come out on the paper & put them back again in the printer>restart pc + printer - ur done. no more messages on your printer>then print a test page-simple.

HP Photosmart D7360 - Oxc18a0001 Ink System Failure

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it... It is hard to get the cover off (and it's not the top cover, but the one on the right side as facing), but once you do follow the directions below.

- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
- Disconnect by pulling gently, both white flat ribbon cables off the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you get a error message and push "Ok".
- Unplug power source.
- Reconnect the flat ribbon cables by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on (Printer preparing occurred).

Ink system failure

have you unpluged it from the outlet? can you see any paper stuck?
otherwise you have a bad system board and would cost more to fix than just to by a new one.

HP Photosmart D7360

HP support decided it could not be repaired on line, agreed to replace it but found it was a few days out of waranty...so it is dead in the water. Probably not cost effective to repair it.
