I followed the instructions to set up this turntable. However, the drive belt was preinstalled around the inner bottom ring of the turntable platter. When I got ready to pull the rubber drive belt off of the inner ring and intall it over the motor spindle, I couldn't because the rubber drive belt is stuck in the bottom of the turntable platter. I called Ion, but was unsuccessful in solving problem. Does anyone have a suggestion, otherwise, I am going to send this flawed turntable back, because I think that the drive belt wasn't properly installed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since your question is generalized. I still wanted to share this forum www.product.info is the place to go become a member and join in the forum. Go for it.
If the turntable is a belt driven unit have you checked to see if the belt has slipped off from around the inside on the platter. Or maybe it could be snapped.
Put you ear to the turntable and switch it to play (you will have to pull the tone arm to where it would normally be to play an LP) listen for a faint noise of a motor running. If you can hear it, the drive belt could be the culprit.
I just checked and YES it is a belt drive. I'll bet my boots that's the problem. Pull the power plug and inspect the actual platter to see if it's removeable. You may have to rmove a circlip from the main drive shaft to remove the platter. To replace the belt. Slip it over the motor shaft and lay it in the bottom under where the platter sits. Then replace the plater and using two fingers pick up the belt and guide it onto the rim the inner rim under the platter and keep rotating the platter slowly until the complete belt is around that inner rim.
Things are now ready to go. If the belt continues to fall off it means it''s been stretched and you will require a replacement. Obviously for free if it's under warranty. Changing the belt yourself shouldn't void the warranty.

Have you put the drivebelt around the motor spindle - the instructions don't make it too clear. The belt is already on the underside of the turntable, you just need to put a finger through the hole in the turntable, pull the belt out and hook it over the motor spindle. After that, if you've pressed the power button (back right), you should see the 33rpm light come on. If it's on, press either of the 2 big buttons on the left hand side and the motor should turn. You can check by looking through the hole in the turntable & see if the motor spindle is turning. If none of the above work then you have a faulty unit.
with everything plugged and running go to preferences in FILE and set Recording Device and channels to Audio device USB in Audio I/O.Tick software playthrough.
now set the microphone box to Stereo mix on the home screen(box is left of small scissors) hope this helps.nigel.
