Vtech 5.8GHz Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 29, 2009

I have a one-year old set of 3 vtech phones, 5.8 GHz digital, spread spectrum. They all keep indicating "connecting." I have inserted new batteries in each of them and still no change. I have no landline phone service because of this and I use my phone for business purposes - I work from home. What could possibly be the problem?

I went online and downloaded the manual for this produst and followed all the trouble shooting procedures until one of them was successful. I didn't download the entire manual but selected various pages listed in the index and printed what I needed. Accessing the appropriate manual was an easy process because of the manner in which they were identified on the vtech website.

Low battery

You need to buy new batteries for your phones. Large retailers charge $10-12 per battery but you can usually find them for closer to $4 online at amazon.com or eBay.
