The turntable fan and light all share the same feed, first check wiring for loose connections the problem though is most likely with the controller

LG Microwave. Turntable and Fan intermittently slow down and nearly stop and then start turning again, happens each time with no fixed pattern. All other functions work correctly.

turntable drive may be fouling on cabinet.
Take out the table and see if it is still slow. To centre the drive- take the panel off the bottom, you may have to cut the metal the first time

Manual for a whirlpool microwave oven model wmh31017aw-1

There is no turntable control. It is always on. The turntable should change direction each time the unit is used. If the turntable is not operating, it has malfunctioned. Newer microwaves for the most part all have full-time turntables to promote even heating, thus reducing customer complaints about ovens that don't heat right.

GE Microwave JVM1540LM2CS Doesn't Heat

The turntable and the magnetron are two separate items and one should not impact the other. Since the other items are working it is doubtful that the fuse is bad. Also you need to know that the proper way to work on a microwave requires the use of special equipment to check for microwave leakage, it is not recommended to service them yourself.

Start button intermittent eg press many times (maybe 20) to start

Problem identified as plastic pushbutton on control panel, solution: interchanged with turntable on/off button (nevrer used). Had paid Miele €115 call out (for person who knew nothing about microwaves), Miele operate a closed shop. Local repair service say Miele will not supply parts, Miele designated repair agent will not repair microwaves, Miele will only send "engineer" to customer, no drop off facility. Was forced into buying new microwave oven from Miele as only way of recouping callout charge. Subsequently had a go myself with above positive positive result - now have a spare microwave cooker.

Emerson Microwave Oven AT1551

The fact that all other functions seem to operate ok, indicates that you might have a problem with the motor that turns the turntable.

If you try to turn the turntable manually (gently), does it turn freely or is there resistance? If it turns freely, the mechanical mechanism between the turntable and motor may be broken and the motor may be ok.

The oven's microprocessor also controlls the motor. There could be a problem there.

You'll need to have it looked at by a service center. Although its not that difficult to determine which of the reasons I mentioned above is the cause, it can be however, dangerous to operate a microwave oven with the cover off and with high voltage circuits exposed.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

Microwave quit

I would suspect either door switches or an intermittent control circuit board, either of which can be repaired. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure over time. I have a text file on my site called "doorsw.txt" which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems. You can find the file via a Google search. It will help you check and replace the door switches if you or an able friend is so inclined. In some cases, the problem is a bad connection or a bad relay on the control board. That's something we see fairly often, and we repair them for only $32.50 nationwide.
