There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

Why my laptop runs slow when i disconnect the power cable although the battery is fully charged. After reconnecting the power cable the laptop runs normally at good speed, why? is there any problem with...

When you run on the battery the laptop reduces or stops certain things to conserve battery power. Haven't you ever noticed that once you remove the power cord the screen goes dimmer. The laptop is conserving energy and that will cause it to perform at a slower pace or speed.

Unplugged laptops generally go into power saving mode. They will slow the CPU speed, stop the hard drive more often and lower the brightness of the screen (big power savings) all that good effort is lost when you remember that the power supply you use to charge the battery is making more heat . When you reattach it to the power adapter it goes back to Full Power Mode, and recharges the battery as well.

Here's a rule of thumb that I always follow. If i'm near an electrical outlet, I use the power cord. I never use my battery unless there is no electrical outlet near by. This way my battery is always charged for times that I really need to use it.

My dell laptop won't start.

Hello,

Try with the battery not connected to the laptop. If no good, then try with another power adapter. If still no good, then take it in to a reputable service shop.

Hope this helps!

The PAvilion lights come on for about 2 seconds and go out it then doesn't boot up?

If you are trying to boot up on battery, with no power cable, the battery is dead. If you are trying to boot up on power cable then your cable might not be good. Also your motherboard might be shorting out as this problem is not usual. First thing check the voltage coming out of your power cable to see if that is the problem, then go with opening and fixing the laptop inside. Good luck

Laptop won't staart up.

Hi,
Yes, it should run off AC power even if the battery is removed. Sounds like either the motherboard or your AC adaptor might be failing. I would start by trying the AC adaptor with another dell to verify it it's not dead.

Good luck,

Power source not charcing battery

Its not the battery, its AC power source providing your problem.
Check if AC connector goes in as far as it should on your laptop, check so you dont have a weak link on the cables on the AC. My guess is that the power sorce or the cables on is defect someway.

Good luck!

ASpire 5580 series, no power

Hi Dhadha,
Try this: - remove AC adapter plug - remove the battery - insert the battery again. - try power up the laptop.
I have same problem, but this trick always work, and I always do this every power up. :)
However, I am using a usb optical mouse for an indicator. When inserting the battery, I check the light on the mouse. If it is flashing the second I insert the battery, then the power up will be successful. IF it is not, then remove and insert the battery again.
Try it.
