Thanks but I already new this. My problem was not knowing the sequence and buttons to press to achieve a solution. However, I have since found a user manual and have partially fixed this problem. Why isn't this available to download from the Cannon web site? However, there is an inherent fault with this model (also experienced by other users) whereby the printer keeps reverting to the message "scanner error" in spite of being reset. Naturally, Cannon refuse to admit this as being a design/machine fault.
